The Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) is the leading global provider of science, technology, and regulatory information and education for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical community. Founded in 1946 as a nonprofit organisation, PDA is committed to developing scientifically sound, practical technical information and resources to advance science and regulation through the expertise of its more than 10,300 members worldwide.
PDA Singapore Chapter was officially registered as a society in Singapore on 26 May 2014 as the local chapter within the global PDA organisation. This local Singapore chapter originated with the new chapter petition signed by 13 PDA members in Singapore, all of whom are well recognised industry stakeholders in Singapore.
As of September 2017, PDA Singapore Chapter counts more than 70 local PDA members, and membership is increasing year by year. The Chapter has three office bearers and four volunteers who handle Chapter activities. All committee members are stakeholders from the pharmaceutical industry and they support the organisation as volunteers. Our diverse membership represents various functions within the life science industry, including backgrounds in regulatory, pharmaceutical, medical device, consultant and supplier functions.
PDA is recognised worldwide for its Technical Reports, which are peer-reviewed global consensus documents providing expert guidance on important scientific and regulatory issues. Industry professionals can benefit from the multiple conferences and workshops PDA offers each year on trending topics, such as aseptic processing, parenteral packaging, combination products, and cell and gene therapy. In addition, PDA provides practical information and implementable solutions through its hands-on education and training courses. PDA’s global network encompasses industry and regulatory professionals around the world, providing access to the thought leaders and influencers in the dynamic pharmaceutical manufacturing field.
PDA Singapore Events
PDA Singapore Chapter regularly holds technical talks, symposium and enjoyable events for members and non-members alike. Technical events cover various topics of interest, including those trending in the industry. Recent talks have covered topics such as technology transfer, data integrity, filtration best practice, single use systems, Good Distribution Practice, drug shortage, and low endotoxin recovery.
As part of our industry engagement, we regularly conduct invitation-only round table events designed specifically for senior management in the local industry. PDA Singapore Chapter also organises training courses on relevant topics, instructed by distinguished trainers with vast industry experience. Recently, in September 2017, the Chapter hosted a Quality Metrics and Quality Culture training taught by faculty from PDA’s global headquarters in the U.S.
PDA Singapore Chapter also hosted the 2017 PDA Modern Biopharmaceutical Processing Conference from 28 to 29 November 2017. This is an important conference in Asia, which featured speakers from the U.S. FDA, HSA, and other regulatory agencies, as well as representatives from pharmaceutical companies and suppliers. The conference addressed all relevant aspects that need to be considered when manufacturing modern biopharmaceuticals.
In addition, the Chapter hosts non-technical events, such as a members-only event at Singapore’s National Gallery as part of our Anniversary celebration. We welcome you to join PDA for learning, sharing knowledge and best practices, and participate in our fun-filled social and networking events.
